Solo

What is visible and what is not. What can be heard and what cannot. What is felt and what is not. The left hand closes, the right arm rises, and falls. I cannot say why I chose to play that note next — but it happened within a larger flow, something that was meant to occur.

For this album, I entered the studio for two days and played almost entirely through improvisation, with nothing predetermined, following only what my body led me to do. What emerged through the contrabass was myself at that particular moment — a record of an instant that existed between who I had been and who I was becoming.
