Remboato — the name taken from the Esperanto word for "rowboat" — is a quartet of four truly singular players and composers in the current jazz scene: Kazuma Fujimoto, Sumire Kuribayashi, Toru Nishijima, and Shinya Fukumori. Formed in Tokyo in March 2021, the group has no leader; each member contributes compositions as equals, creating music that deepens in purity and expands in scale with every performance. Nostalgic melodies and cinematic harmonies melt together, swell, and become waves of sound — music that moves the body and soul and reminds you of what truly matters. In November 2021, the group released their debut album Hoshi wo Kogu Mono on nagalu, the independent label founded and led by drummer Shinya Fukumori.
